I was wanting to get feedback from companies that dispose of septic tanks at waste water treatment facilities. We are currently charged $100 up to 1500 gl. and $25 for every 500 gl. over. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

We have to dispose of our waste at a private dewatering facility at $0.13 per gallon. The municipalities here no longer accept septic waste into their systems. from haulers.

We pay10 cents a gallon, full trucks only, no grease, they take samples, they only take 50,000 gallons a day. Haulers from three counties come here. During busy times, like now, they max out by noon or sooner. They dont take appointments, I have called, "come on over" , 30 minute trip plus $4.50 bridge toll, plus D.O.T. Opp's, the guy in front of you maxed us out, "sorry".:mad::mad:

i thought that the 8 cents per gallon that we have to pay was flat ridiculous! sounds like we dont have it all that bad. my question which goes hand in hand with this is what do you charge? we charge 55 cents per gallon.

i meant how much you charge to pump not how much you charge for disposal.

Truck - $156.24
Disposal - $65.00 (500 x 0.13)
tax - $28.76

Total = $250.00 for a 500 Gallon Tank

Anything larger 1000 - 2000 add $0.13 per gallon. Unless it's a really big or industrial job then it's an hourly rate for the truck (usually $90 - 105).

We are paying from 9 to 12 cents for septage, toilets and holding tanks depending on which plant we take it too. We too have the problem of a limited amount of space per day. Of course that's at the cheap, close place! Grease about .27 cents last time I checked and we do charge more for grease. We also have to haul it alot farther.

We use a municipal site with a yearly fee of $1200.00 and $3.50 per 1000 gal. I can't believe the prices you are charged. An average tank is $140.00/hr and $3.50 disposal fee, and our customers are upset about our disposal fees. Wait till I tell them about some of yours. They'll probably still complain.

Most municipal sites around here charge between $0.06 to $0.08 per gallon. Problem is there are very few municipalities that want the extra waste load on their systems and the ones that will let you dump are so far that it is cheaper to dump at $0.13 per gallon than the cost of fuel to get to the cheaper site. In the end all pumpers around here are in the same boat, disposal doesn't play into the cost factor for us, only the customer.

Why aren't the municipal facilities taking hauler waste? What are your other options if you didn't have access to the de-watering site?

Update, the dump facility in our county charges $0.40 per gallon and takes samples. You must have site glasses on your tank, and they want you to scrap out everything that doesnt make it through the grate with a shovel and hose. Sonoma County, CA :(

Everyone here is forced to use big tanker trucks and drive to Oakland where its .08 per gallon, but its more than an hour away and there's tons of traffic.

Here's the irony, there's a water shortage & they want to be "eco friendly". So we pump out septic and water that has been gathered from the ground and into the tanks thus drying out the county, so they have to add more costly wells and we have to buy big expensive and gas guzzling trucks that pollute the air and add traffic to the roads risking our lives and the lives of others because this county charges 0.40 per gallon.

How backwards is that?

We charge $275 plus tax (8%) for pumping up to a 1000 gallons. No discounts for smaller tanks unless senior or vet. Over a 1000 gallons adds $.25per gallon. Any digging, snaking or repairs is extra. 50% of our customers have 1000 gallon tanks 15% 500 gallon 5% 750 gallon remainder 1250 gallon or larger.

Most pump outs take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do. Thats from the time we leave the shop to returned time.

Once the 3500 gallon truck is full, it takes about the same amount of time to go dump. Dumping fees range between $350 and $420 per load.

When the private de-watering facility opened the municipalities used this as an opportunity to decrease the load on their systems. The de-watering site is set up with key swipe system and we can dump 24/7/365.

I pay $70. per 1000 gallons, but more importantly, I purchaed a lot accross the street from the sewerage treatment plant. I can look accross the street to see if I have to wait for another pumper to unload. Lot was cheap-guess no one else wants to be that close to the disposal site.

dumping fees here in southern ohio in one county is great. a $20 dump ticket will let you dump up to 1500 gal,$30 for 1501-2000,etc.The only down fall is they only let this county's septgage to be dumped here. I can understand because they would be overwhelmed with trucks. Other surroundging countys wo'nt allow dumping at their treatment plants.

Update. Our treatment plant that was closest to us and cheapest booted everyone out except 500 gallon portable toilet trucks. Now we are hauling 2 hour round trip and paying 13 cents per gallon.

We are charging $270 for up to 500 gallons and $325 up to 1000 and .325 per gallon over that.
