I am looking for reccomendations for a nozzle to clean 1000-1200 ft runs in a 3" line. I have a 80 gpm,2500psi machine. The problem seems to be reaching the end manholes.

One problem I see is that Your hose must be 1" or 1 1/4" toooo big for 3" pipe if there are any turns, and I bet there are.
Drop back to 1/2" hose with a nozzle that can pull that far. May be hard to do if your dump valve is designed for 80 gpm and cant function at 18 gpm. (2500 psi does not have much pulling power on long runs at low gpm and large hose cant handle but a few turns (45s or 90s)).

It would be very, very unusual to have a 3" line that long - especially through manholes. What exactly do these lines serve?

Pete,

You've got two problems. (1) Pipe runs of the lengths you are trying to clean will cause tremendous pressure losses (pressure at the pump does not equal pressure at the end of the hose) on 1,000' of hose. (2) a 1" 80 GPM system in 3" hose is overkill. A 3" pipe simply can't handle that much water. You would be best served to use a 1/2" system at 4,000 PSI. Your nozzle will also need to be custom configured per those parameters. Depending on the slope of the line, and the type of pipe used, you may need to play with different configurations before you hit on the right nozzle. KEG would be glad to assist you with this.:)

Barry, I agree with you. The original poster (jojo2) stated "1000-1200 ft runs in a 3" line". At that length, I highly doubt that the line is 3" for it's entire length. I don't know of any code in the US that would allow that length without access cleanouts or manholes along the pipe's path for cleaning and maintenance.
