after reading the discussion about cleaning drainfields i decided to pass my experience and problems on for others to comment on! i have been effectively cleaning drainfields in the central texas area for @5 years. apparantly with enough success that i have recieved recognition all the way up to state level.
this story really got interesting a few months ago when the big chief from our county health dept went to the big POW WOW the state had for the installers in waco, texas. upon his return to his office he talked to one of my installers and told him that one of the big meetings turned into a discussion(actually a group whining) about my company and what we do. which is make old systems work and apparantly there are a BUNCH of installers that think we are hurting their business of installing new ones!
this prompted me to call the (governing body of my state) and dig into this. it didnt take long and i was talking to whom i understand to be the number 2 man up there. BOY what a hornets nest! after a discussion that lasted well over an hour. it took at least 20 minutes to start to get his position on this. which was SEPTIC TANK PUMPERS are ONLY allowed to pump septic tanks, THE END! we are not qualified and should not dare pump out a drainfield line for any reason. he went on explaining that anything(even just pumping) a drain line had to be done by an installer which i have been before but as he pointed out my license was expired! at this point this conversation had been going over an hour and he thought he had me nailed down.:p my response was "sir this is no problem whatsoever, i can just have 1 of my 3 installers do these jobs":) licensed installer problem solved right? WRONG! at this point he is about to flat blow a gasket because i have overcome each and every one of his objections which were total crap to begin with. at this point he could not contain himself anymore:o he had no more fight for me in this conversation and abruptly ended this conversation.
but it was far from over. because his objections had no foundation, UNLESS YOU COUNT BECAUSE I SAID SO! he went with the il just use my state given powers on this guy! he called the big chief(the one that had allowed me to clean drainfelds)at the county health dept in the county i do my most work in and told him that he was to NOT allow ANYONE licensed installer or not to clean any drain lines! and his official reason to him was "they may suck something harmful into the pipe! now im no genius but if you have a system that is going to be condemned and it isnt functioning AT All, WHAT EXATLY COULD YOU DO TO HURT IT???
AFTER TELLING THIS STORY TO A TOP NOTCH LAWYER, he asked what i had received in writing? when i said nothing and he finally stopped laughing. he asked me how long i had been doing this, what my success ration was and how well i explained that this wasnt a permanent cure. i told him i had been doing them @5 years and only had a handful that i wasnt able to put back to working. and each and every customer i did this for signed a handwritten in language a 10 year old would understand showing exact pricing before work was done and that there was absolutely no warranty or gaurantee of any kind whatsoever! he said if you receive anything in writing get it to me immediately!
ANYONE EVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS?

IF ANYONE WAS AT THE POW WOW IN WACO WITNESSED THIS PLEASE RESPOND.
