What is the DOT rule on log books for Portable Toilet truck under 26,000 gvw. Do we need them?

From my research it looks like there is radius from your home base that is exempt from DOT logbooks. I can't seem to confirm if that number is 100 or 150 miles.

Also if you work more then 12hrs in a day you have to keep a log book no matter how many miles from your shop.
I will look the REG up for you and post it. Or you can go to www.fmcsa.got.gov and look for it.

Is there any regulation on somoene who is buying and transporting a pumper truck from state to state? I almost got slapped with a $200,000 fine for driving a new truck through Arizona. Bypassed every scale after that!!!
