Today I recieved a call from someone wanting to know if i provided toilet on a commerical job sites. A strange question to ask a Portable toilet company. So I asked were there job site was, so I could give them a qoute. They asked me where I was located, and wanted to know the radius we covered. I asked them again what town they were working in. They said that they where looking for a provider in the area. I asked them if they where scouting my area. They said that they where. I ended the Phone call.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I had another out of state company call me because they had a customer in my area and need to have a toilet. There customer had rented the toilet over the internet and they sub it to me. Were they scouting or just sub-ing a job from 2 states away

I think these people are doing market research, not well but they are trying to find out your info. You need to know what your competition is doing and some people just are not good at it getting that information.

You may develop a good relationship with that company if thier customer will be working in your area alot. We do that with in state companies, some of which are our competitors. Sometimes it pays to be friendly. Sometimes they are just looking for information.
