I have ran into some Problems bidding on Festivals. Is there a law about seeking bid or allowing people to bid on jobs that use public funds? The problem that I have ran into is the county fair uses public funds to have a fair on privately own property . The property is owned by a club, they award the bid without seeking multiple bids for the contract. I contacted about bidding on the job. They gave me the spec. and I gave them the bid. Mine was the low bid and they liked it but they already awarded the bid to someone else. 12 hour from the time I asked. With no published notice.
The second problem I had with a different county fair told me that I had to join the chamber of commerce in order to receive the bid, if it was awarded to me, about 15% of a small job.
How do you guys go about being put on a bid list for the local committees (I.e. Chambers of Commerce, Fair Boards, etc.)
