Wisconsin mounds

I am hopeing someone could enlighten me on the pros and cons of the Wisconsin mounds (chambers instead of sewer rock in the mound). Maybe if someone has been maintaning systems that are 10 - 15 yrs old. I put a couple in last year and now one is froze up. Any info?
