Has anybody else noticed the lack of range of the blue flushable 512 transmitters. I can only get about 7 feet in open air. this was tested with three radio detection receivers; one had just been calibrated!
the factory said they work fine with there receivers, but I've been using these since the inception in the early 90's; and have always gotten close to 10' while in the ground.
I did break down and bought the fv-10 with carrier. but as feared it went bye-bye. The threads they cut must of been to thin and the carrier with sonde pulled off the end of the cable with little resistance. I had already cabled this line before I traced it, but it felt like a small root ball may have caught it on the way out; it didn't take much! To add insult to injury, the customer didn't have the $ to excavate, nor were retrieval efforts successful. That's four hundred down the drain and Larry @ prototek won't return my call.
