Does anyone know if there is a paint that can be used to brighten up some old units? We are looking at buying some, but from the pictures they are quite weathered and was wondering if there is a paint that does not peel or flake when applied to these units. I think they are older poly johns. Thanks

They make a flexible automotive paint that adheres well to plastic and fiberglass. It's used on ATVs, snowmobiles, plastic parts on cars, etc. But it's expensive and probably overkill for dressing up a restroom. I think they also make some dyes for plastic. This is one company I know of that makes products for plastic - http://www.parasolinc.com/
I am pretty sure DuPont, Sikkens and some others do too.

What I've found with toilets old enough to be faded is they are starting to become brittle and will crack. Buyer beware.

We use a steam cleaner to bring out the shine in our units. Just like the other post said if they need paint they will probably be about done with service life

I know in automotive, weathered plastic parts like bumpers (depends on the plastic though) they get faded but can be renewed by a heat gun.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-dtbBzky-s&feature=fvw

With the way the economy is, Im definitely looking into fixing up some "Antique Potties" to add some character to my fleet and save some money, especially on shipping prices of potties. Im going to try painting a few, Ill let you know what I find out about what works best.
