:(Yesterday my tire guy quoted me a price of over $4000. for ten new tires for one of my trucks. He says all the tire companies went up 40 per cent overnight with no advance warning. Fact or fiction? A call to a few dealers seems to confirm this. Can you spell price-fixing boys and girls?

in the past i have always used michelin tires but last year when tire shopping they were over $5@@ each! i started looking into which other tire would work for me that would be more livable with my pocket but still a good tire. all of my trucks cost me @100k so i certainly didnt want to run a junk tire. what i came up with was the firestone FS series. that set has over 20k miles on them now & hardly look used! my experience with them led me to buy another set yesterday & i paid $250 each plus all the fees the government has tacked on.
