I am just getting into the pumping business and plan on getting a engine driven pump beings i don't have vacuum truck. My question is what type of pump should i use and what size. I will be pumping septic tanks and maybe sumps. Trash or Diaphragm ???

I don't know much about pumps as I have been looking to upgrade myself but I thought that a trash pump and a diaphragm pump were the same thing. Maybe someone could tell us both. We currently use a CH&E 3" diaphragm pump. Buy new. The previous owner of ours really had it cobbled up. They are easy to work on though and can easily be worked on out in the field, weather permitting. These pumps are slow. DO NOT leave home without your CRUSTBUSTER other wise you will be backflushing your life away. Best of luck.

Mr. Slurpy, you are going to need a vacuum tank and pump. The trash pump won't work. It will get hopelessly plugged. Dad tried that route many, many years ago. The main thing is not to undersize your pump for the tank size. In fact I would get as high a CFM pump as they recomend for your chosen size of tank. Check with a tank mfgr. from the Pumper and shop for quality and reputation as well as price.
