If you were to build a single vehicle for service calls for drain cleaning, what type of tools would you have on board for root removal, jetting, camera, etc. what tools would you have on board for residential and light commerical-no municipaltities. Would you have a generator on board? Flashlight, sawsall, etc.

Would you buy 2 jetters, small electric one for indoors, gas powered one for outdoors. We do some commercial work and would have to jet out their lines between the building and their greast trap tank. Some of these can extend 500 feet. Do I need a jetter that is capable of 500 feet or do I need a jetter that is capable of 250 feet and jet it from both ends. :)

We built a jetter 8.6 gpm @ 3600 psi full time or 4000 psi part time.
The dump valve will allow as little as 3.5 gpm or as much as 15 gpm, it has a 65 gallon tank with an automatic water control. It can clean from 1.5" to 8" drains with ease. Our jetters carry 500' of 3/8" hose and can handle most commercial and all residential drains.
We use a wand gun hooked up to 1/8" and 3/16" X 100' hose for small drains.
We cut roots using WartHog jetter heads and have had great success (see David Meets Goliath In Georgia Sewer, StoneAge 05/04).
Be carefull whin purchasing a small jetter, at the Trade Show, alot of the small jetters were under sized on horse power.
Gas power is gpm X psi / 1100
Diesel power is gpm X psi / 1250
Electric power is gpm X psi / 1460
Some of the ones at the show were using the electric formula for gas! If you buy that type of unit you will not get the pump rated gpm @ the rated psi.
