Moro m3 pump

been drain cleaning for years but recently purchased an old septic truck with a 2000 gal. tank and an m3 from moro. When pumping I can only put hose 1 to 3 inches in sewage any farther no vacum. Just wondering if I am at the pumps limitations or simple operator failure since I am new to the pumping part of the sewer industry thanks for the feedback. graywater8

Could it be something as simple as new vanes or a pump rebuild? An inexpensive first step might be to order and install new vanes. Check for vacuum leaks in the tank and hoses. What about a stuck relief valve?
