Not sure where to put this so if it needs to be moved into another forums..have at it.
Just curious, after someone cleans a grease trap, where does the grease get disposed of ? Just cannot dump it anyplace and I would think it could not go to the landfill, so where?
thanks

Yes it usually ends up at the landfill, or drying beds somewhere. Our landfill allows pumpers to dump in on the ground in a specified area where it dries up, then they scrape it up and add it to the rest of the garbage.

Can't it be land applied on approved fields?

I don't know for sure but I'm 99.9% sure you can't. Not without some sort of treatment done first.

In Ky We Land Apply It. You Have To Mix It Like 3 Parts Sewer To 1 Part Grease With Your Lime Applied Enoughto Get The Ph Right.the Sewage Usually Breaks The Grease Down Pretty Good.

We have one treatment plant that accepts grease and we pay nearly double compared to septage. If you can land apply, do it.
