$500 a month will buy you nothing more than huge headaches!!! and if your gonna run junk you should at least run junk that is paid for. now im not running down using junk, dont get me wrong. you have to do what you have to do. but the pump truck thats $500 a month is most likely gonna have a alot of down time because its gonna have problems. i see it all the time. and when that truck is broke the payments dont stop. my suggestion is to run what you have until you are able to buy something that is worth stepping into. the last thing that i want to do is discourage you but what im telling you is the best advice i can give.

I run economical trucks that are in your price range. They are hard to find used that are worth having. I assemble my own so I know what I have. The last one I put together was a 1500 gallon chevy. The 1996 chevy is a gas burning 366 with a 5-2 it cost $4200 to purchase with 130,000 miles on it, then I bought tank and pump and assemble it. That cost another $15000. Now most people knock the gas trucks, but you can buy a reman-ed long block from gm-goodwrench for less than $4000. This year that truck pumped 400,000 gallons and logged 14,000 miles and I had to replace a water pump, fuel pump, and clutch, about $500 dollars in parts. Yes the fuel mileage is 6-8 mpg. But a diesel truck would have ran $15,000 or more to buy in the same shape. Gas is cheap when the truck is making money, and fancy faster diesel uses fuel too, plus have a higher monthly payment.

;)How many months do you plan to keep paying for that truck--more important is how much do you want to pay for it?Do you want to be able to use it immediatlely? Do you plan on doing any of the repair or restoration work yourself, or pay to have it done? Would a 3,000 gallon tank truck be
OK? Gas or oil engine? With more info I can point you in the right direction.
