I am trying to buy a pump truck with at least a 2000 gallon tank. The truck has to be dependable and last a long time. I have to keep my monthly payment at around $500.00 . Anyone have any information on how to get this done. I found one for $30,000 but they want monthly payments of $770.00. I cant afford that. My credit is great.
Thanks OBrien:

The newer the model year of a truck, the longer a lending agency will most likely let you finance it. If all that is important to you is keeping the payment set to a certain level, then you may actually be able to buy a newer or more expensive truck and achieve that lower payment because you can finance over a longer term. I would suggest getting pre-approval from one of the finance companies listed at the link below. Also consider buying the truck from a vacuum truck dealer vs. a private party. That may allow you more flexible terms as most dealers will have established relationships with one or several finance companies.

Also consider a lease. Leases, if you have good credit, allow you to customize payments to meet your needs based on seasonal work, payment requirements or other desires. I believe there are also certain tax advantages to leasing. On the down side you are essentially only "renting" the equipment because it eventually has to be turned back in or bought. The terms and contracts are negotiated in advance. I am no leasing expert, but again, refer to the leasing link below and contact any of the agencies listed for some assistance.

To search for used equipment use the Pumper Trader web site or call 800-257-7222 and Kayla can sign you up to receive the printed version if you don't get it already (it is only available to paid Pumper subscribers). http://www.pumpertrader.com.

I say if you cant afford a $500 dollar monthly payment maybe your not ready for a new truck. Maybe you should build up your business a bit more.
