Default Buckling tanks

Good day,
Our 3000 gl tanks started to buckle when we vac... we cleaned out the filter, & is still buckling..whould we clean out the hoses & ck the muffler on the tank? any suggestions? thanks in advance.

it could be that your baffle is gone, or your tank shell is rust to thin to hold the pressure. If you baffle is gone you might be able to replace it. As for the buckling, I was told about a guy that hand a 3000 gallon pressure water tank that supply a large swim park. He turn off the water to fix a leak and the water drain down and suck the tank in.(buckling) He turn the water back on the let it fill to 40 psi and that pushed most of the buckling out, then drained it and use jacks and hammers to take out the winkles. It is still in use today.

I agree with all you said. 50 years ago we would brace with pipe (pads on the end of the pipe too) like a spider web. No vertical pipes that would hinder grit cleaning. the larger the diameter the greater the chance of collapse.
