Business licences for each city you work in.

Recently one of the many cities we service decided that we need a business licence to be able to deliver and service portalbe toilets there. Their argument is that we are advertising because we have decals on to unit. We replied that by state law we are required to have the decals on the unit with our name and phone number on them. We asked about equipment rentals. According to them yes they are required to have a license as well. However the only way they find out about anyone working in the city is if someone turns them in. We got lucky enough to be working in front of the office of the code enforcement person.

Has anyone had any problems like this? What did you do about it? The money is not that big of a deal for one city but if you add up the 50 or 60 different cities we work in it becomes a big deal.
