Forum, Edit options, Spam

Hello,
I know we just got hit with spam & virus threats. I was dumb enough to click the "administrators message" not noticing it was from a guest.
You can block guest messages in "edit options". I did not block, never know when a interesting party will be on the forum. (I'll check sender closer next time).
Anyway, I didn't know I had received private messages. I didn't have email notification checked for private messages in "edit options". Just letting anybody that didn't know we have this option. (I didn't know till now).
