Default Identifying Portable Toilets

I am just looking for ideas on marking porta-johns for identification purposes if they happen to go missing. It would seem wise to be able to somehow identify them with a permanent system that cannot be removed by anyone . A company logo or brand would be nice plus a numbering system for our own records. It should also be in a somewhat discreet location. Just curious to see if anyone else identifies their units. We already have large company stickers (decals) on the doors but these can be peled off with some effort.

I went to my local tire store and bought a brand. Of course they had to order it. In the end it has CPT (Clinkscales Portable Toilets) and around the sides are numbers from 0-9. I brand them with the CPT first then the last two digits of the year they were purchased then the unit number.

So my brand would look like CPT 10 01, CPT 10 02, CPT 10 03......

I usually brand the skids inside the door. If you assemble your own units you could brand all panels in a hidden area.

Hope this helps.

Here's a link. http://www.geohewitt.com/Branding%20Irons.htm

Scroll down the page a bit. This one is propane heated. Mine is electric. On the end you can see where you can slide letters in. That is where I have CPT.

All of our PolyPortable and Hampel units have the production/inventory number stamped into either the door or the frame. If need be, we could identify the potty by that.

But unless you have a repetitive problem with theft and peeling of your decal, sounds like a lot of work to do it just for that. We've never had one go missing....I don't think! ha ha

Our decals are a real bugger to get off even when they are old and tattered and we are trying to get them off. If your decal comes off too easily, you may want to switch vendors. We get ours from Roeda/ScreenTech in IL.
